Qualified Chartered Accountants (CAs) from India AND currently living in Dallas Fort Worth Area or in surrounding regions in Texas or Oklahoma in USA are welcome to join this chapter

• • Okay to have inactive membership status in ICAI India.
• • Okay to have non-US (India/other country) phone number as WhatsApp number.

• • All Chartered Accountants (CAs) are vetted to be part of the group through an established process by admins as privacy is important to all.
• • Admins typically spend 30 minutes on onboarding each member collecting various details and it takes about 2-3 weeks’ timeframe to onboard each member.
• • Admins request and retain the details regarding CA membership number, valid email address and US phone numbers (along with non-US WhatsApp number) for internal records.

There are currently about 160 members as of Jun 1 st 2024. Chartered Accountants (CAs) in this group have 1-30 years professional experience and a few are C-level executives, VPs, and entrepreneurs, and many mid-level/entry-level managers, entry-level professionals and students (on F1-visa) in areas of accounting / finance / law / audit / business etc.

• • ICAI Dallas membership opens up a wide variety of Networking and Professional Development opportunities to you.
• • On request, paid members will have access to more information on networking & professional collaboration.
• • Voting members are also eligible to join the Board based on the process set in the by-laws and even lead the Dallas chapter eventually with new ideas and vision.
• • Paid Members also get a chance to review the financial report during the Annual General Meeting and can give recommendations about different events & activities.

There are 2 types of paid members:

#1: Voting Member who can exercise Voting rights (to elect the Board and eligible to become a director) and avail all benefits - all 4 criteria below are met:

• 1. ICAI India membership, whether Active “Associate” or “Fellow” member of ICAI India, or an Inactive “Associate” or “Fellow” member of ICAI India with a help desk ticket pending with ICAI Dallas or ICAI India to restore membership at the time of submission of the membership enrollment form through the website secure login portal at www.icaidfw.org/login.
• 2. Lives in DFW Metroplex Only.
• 3. Signs electronically and submits this membership enrollment application form through the website secure login portal at www.icaidfw.org/login and.
• 4. Pays the annual membership dues.

#2: Non-Voting Member who cannot exercise Voting rights but can avail all other benefits - all 3 criteria below are met:

• 1. Either.
  • 1. Lives in DFW Metroplex and ICAI India membership, whether Inactive “Associate” or “Fellow” member of ICAI India, and no intention to submit help desk ticket with ICAI Dallas or ICAI India to restore membership at the time of submission of the membership enrollment form through the website secure login portal at www.icaidfw.org/login.
  • 2. Or Lives in surrounding regions in Texas or Oklahoma in USA, whether Active or Inactive “Associate” or “Fellow” member of ICAI India
• 2. Signs electronically and submits the membership enrollment form through the website secure login portal at www.icaidfw.org/login and.
• 3. Pays the annual membership dues

• • ICAI Dallas membership fees for the calendar year 2024.
  • o $100 per year for a ‘Gold’ Member status with an option to have free admission up to 2 paid events in a calendar year, where number of events conducted are per Board’s decision.
  • o $50 per year for ‘Regular’ Member status and
  • o $25 per year for a Student/Retired/Looking for Work status. (Student members should submit current student id)
• • Both Voting and Non voting members can pay the dues to support Chapter activities.
• • ICAI Dallas Membership period is Calendar year, which is Jan 1 - Dec 31.
• • Membership fees are due by March 31st of each calendar year.
• • Membership fees/dues are NOT tax deductible by members in their tax returns filed in individual capacity (as ICAI Dallas is not a 501(c)(3) organization, but registered as a 501(c)(6) organization with IRS). Please consult with your CPA.

Please pay ICAI Dallas membership fees/dues via any of the 2 methods:

• • Via Checks after emailing admin@icaidallas.us to coordinate payments, checks written in the name of "ICAI Dallas" with memo field having CA membership#

ICAI Dallas membership fees are refundable only if the application is rejected. If the member leaves Dallas in the middle of the year, fees are not refundable.

The application for member enrollment will be considered complete when both steps are completed:

• A. submission of the member enrollment application through the website secure login portal at www.icaidfw.org/login (there’s an option to save drafts) AND
• B. payment of annual dues via preferred methods as in FAQ#7.

The completed application is subject to approval by the membership team.

The member will receive an email confirming enrollment and payment from the membership team.

A member is a guest member if they are vetted as part of the onboarding process but have not paid annual membership fees/dues. They are welcome to be part of the chapter and participate in non-paid events. The Board highly encourages members to become paid members to help support chapter activities.

• • Setting Up.
  • o A Chapter of the Institute can be formed outside India, on a request in writing from not less than 20 members in a city, in a foreign country, having their professional address registered in that city.
  • o A Chapter of the Institute can be set up in any foreign country provided there are 100 or more members having their professional address registered in that country and a request for setting up of a chapter there is received from at least 20 such members, along with a list of 100 members.
  • ▪ All members are encouraged to keep CA membership active by paying dues on time and update professional address as Dallas/Fort Worth USA address (and keep permanent address as India address) via ICAI online portal login https://eservices.icai.org
• • Functioning.
  • o Chapter should be managed by a Board/Managing Committee to be elected once in three years.
  • o Chapter should be self-supporting for their expenses in the USA and be compliant with local rules/laws of the country/states.
